Create a Lasting Legacy

The best way to support the long-term financial strength of the Museum is through membership in our Heritage Society. Membership is extended to all those who make a planned gift of $5,000 or more and to those who make an outright gift of $5,000 or more to the board-established endowment fund. The Heritage Society was created to exclusively honor and recognize individuals committed to supporting the future of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum. There are many planned giving options and anyone with a desire to give can make a gift. People are often surprised how easy it is to create a lasting legacy. The most common type of planned gift is a bequest in your will or trust. Naming the Museum as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or insurance policy is another option. Gifts such as charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities that provide income and current tax savings are also popular with donors. Unless you wish to give anonymously, the Museum provides pubic acknowledgement of Heritage Society members as a way to encourage others.
